Abstract of the Course

The course provides detailed instruction in diagnosis and treatment planning for interdisciplinary dental clinical cases focusing on smile esthetics.

This course is highly recommended for orthodontists, prosthodontists, periodontists, specialists in aesthetic dentistry and dental technicians, whose primary goal is to achieve optimal smile esthetics. During this one-day course participants will develop a clear understanding of this method through a hands-on training with their own laptops (PowerPoint or Mac – Keynote).

Speaker

Andre Wilson Machado is an Associate Professor of the Federal University of Bahia, Brazil, Faculty of Dentistry and maintains a private practice in Salvador. He has also been working as a Visiting Professor at the University of California Los Angeles – UCLA, since 2011. He completed his dental education, Master’s Degree and PhD in Brazil.

He is the author and co-author of more than 70 articles published worldwide and has given lectures in more than 30 cities, totaling over 200 presentations. His favorite topics are mechanics and smile esthetics and most published articles have focused on these topics. Recently, he developed the smile analysis protocol entitled “10 commandments of smile esthetics” and also the “Orthodontic Smile Design”, interesting methods for diagnosing and planning esthetic dental treatments.

Program

The three major goals of our course:

• Share with the attendees the smile esthetics protocol entitled: “10 Commandments of Smile Esthetics”, allowing the clinician to plan esthetic dental treatments through a simple, didactical and systematic method.
• Guide the clinician to utilize several tools from the “Digital Smile Design” concept to enhance communication with colleagues and patients.
• Illustrate several interdisciplinary cases whit the phases of treatment

For the hands-on session, attendees should have PowerPoint (minimum version 2013) or Keynote (minimum version 2017) in their personal computer.
